Text Box: THE GOOD NEWS? Each year many of the DR’s orphaned children pile into buses and even pick-up trucks… They come to the Summer Camp Ministry sponsored by Good News Church in partnership with Child Evangelism Fellowship (CEF) of Santo Domingo… Together we bring the Good News to hundreds of children each summer. The children experience simple joys that we take for granted here in the United States. In addition to snacks, hot meals, and a t-shirt, the children will: swim, play games, win prizes, and most importantly, they will hear the Word of God loud and clear.

Dominican Republic 2010 in Review

 

· 260 children were served, mostly orphans (plus 45 adults)

 

· 61 children were identified in meaningful conversations as having accepted Christ, 26 recommitted their lives

 

· 6 children from one of the orphanages  who were formerly HIV+ are now negative

Summer Missions 2010: Dominican Republic

For over a decade Good News Church (GNC) has paired with Child Evangelism Fellowship (CEF) in the Dominican Republic to minister to orphaned children.  Each year the people of Good News Church raise thousands of dollars to send hundreds of orphans to summer camp.  The three day camps are run by a team of summer missionaries from GNC and central PA and the CEF staff from the DR.

Good News FMC Missions would like to thank those who gave to the our project—Share Christmas Love.  We were able to send shoe boxes filled with gifts to the orphans at the Jireh Home for Girls in the DR!

 

These girls have been attending the DR summer camps sponsored by Good News Church for the past 4 years.

In 2010 Good News FMC Missions initiated a “next step” in bringing the love of Christ to these children with a shoe box gift drive called Share Christmas Love.  We would like to thank everyone who participated!
